I've asked two people for their views on a game!

Q1: How do some games make you remember certain things, like spells or rules?
Q2: What do you dislike about a game with certain rules or passive abilities?
Response 1: 1) Repetition. It appears in a form of unlocking a certain new spell that a player wants to try out or mastering a particular skill to the max. Fully understanding that spell or rule allows for me to exploit any weaknesses found or enhance its strength tenfold. 2) When there are too many rules, it becomes less fun for me to play. In a way, I become "sweaty" or try hard, and hit really takes the fun out of it to memorize.
Response 2: 1) Association. I tend to memorize things better when I get to compare and contrast things to each other; it makes each thing unique in its own right. 2) It becomes very frustrating, not the learning phase but actually remembering it when I am mid-battle. I may have forgotten a rule and it messes with my entire plan, or someone has a passive ability and it counters my character every single time. If there are too many things, it becomes a nightmare.
