DCB7: Scale and Emphasis

Mirror's Edge Catalyst

MEC has a lot of scale for such a unified game. The contrast between Faith ( the main protagonist ) and the city is vast: she's in a futuristic city with flying cars but she chooses to run. The game has a lot of scale, one obviously being the large city compared to how small she is, but the other would be derived from her enemy. Her enemy is the CEO of a very large and influential company that practically runs the city. To him, she's a flea. Such scale is emphasized throughout her journey - she does not have regular easy access to the areas she needs to go, she has to trespass and avoid guards.

Dishonored

Dishonored closes the gap between the scales, emphasizing no matter how wealthy or bunkered down you are, death finds a way to extract. In the trailer, scale is seen when the Tallboys ( men with the mechanical legs ), were looking down on the peasants and fired an incinerate bolt. The wealthy man was killed even though he had multiple guards surrounding him, emphasizing that he was no different than the people on the street.
